The transcendent, ethereal journey of Dante through the spiritual realms is arguably one of the greatest poems ever written. It calls to mind questions of a life outside of this one, but one which is greatly influenced by a person's earthly life. As I finish, I may begin a study that delves into the deeper, existential symbolisms behind Dante's work and see how it relates to us who live in the 21st century. Yes, I know i just graduated, but I get bored easily...

My Current Musings
For the first time in four months, I've been able to pick up a book and read it because I actually wanted to, not because I had to. It is an activity that I have greatly missed and take great joy in. There is nothing like diving into a book and allowing oneself to be caught up and swept away in the messages of the words and the lines between the words. My current choice = The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Back in January, during my vacation to Fort Myers, FL, I trudged through the pits of the Inferno, down to the icy core of Hell itself. I climbed up the shaggy thigh of evil's embodiment to find myself at the base of the Mount of Purgatorio, which I have ascended to the blissful rest and wonder of Earth's first earthly dwelling, Eden. Currently, I am joining Dante and his lady, Beatrice, as she guides him up into the realms of Paradiso. I can hardly wait to see what awaits.
